Hulk
Hogan's mad, and he's ready to lay the smackdown in court according to a press
release issued by his lawyer.
The WWE
legend, real name Terry Bollea, filed two civil lawsuits today in Tampa, Fla.,
in connection to the release of his sex tape that leaked on the internet
earlier this month, and was allegedly done without his knowledge or consent,
Gawker, Bubba 'The Love Sponge' and ex wife sued by Hulk Hogan of his sex tapeHeather Clem.
The first
lawsuit is against Heather Clemaka Heather Cole and her ex-husband,Bubba the
Love Sponge Clem aka Todd Alan Clem, alleging claims of invasion of privacy,
public disclosure of private facts, intentional and negligent infliction of
emotional distress and violation of the Florida statute prohibiting the taping
of another person without their knowledge.
The
second lawsuit is against Gawker Media, which posted excerpts of the video on
their website and refused to remove them after Hogan's legal counsel sent a
cease and desist demand for their removal and destruction.
So what
exactly is Hulk Hogan seeking from the website, its owner Nick Denton and other
affiliates? A whopping $100 million in monetary damages, plus punitive damages,
a temporary restraining order and a preliminary and permanent injunction to
force Gawker Media to remove all content of the video from their websites.
Hogan's
attorney David Houston told E! News previously, in reference to Bubba, that,
"Terry never wanted to be in the position of suing someone he considered a
best friend, but if someone does that to you maybe your idea of a best
friendship was misplaced."
As for
Hogan, all he has to say at this time is, "I am fortunate to have a
supportive family during this process."
